The artistic foundation of Jane Holmberg is based on both process and material. She often works with raw clay, either blended with color pigment or with the earthy color palette that emanates from burning different types of clay.

The color nuances and the transitions between these presently play a central role in her work.

Jane Holmberg combines her interest for the classical arts and crafts with inspiration from nature: The sun and the sky’s nuances, the tree rings on a tree stump that tell a story of age and a lived life.

”When the art work is lifted from its purpose, I experience a freedom to dive into the true natural potential of the material, and from there shape unrestrictedly. The clay and its inherent possibilities guide my creative journey”.
